Texting providers without giving out or exposing real identity

I’ve been wanting to reach out to some providers/Indy’s directly by text but have been worried about remaining anonymous. I was wondering if it’s possible for them to trace my number back to who I am? Outside of providers that require screenings is this anything to worry about from other providers who do not require screenings?

If it's a known place, I'd be more afraid if there's no screening. Higher chance they let LI in while you're there. If you're worried, just don't say anything in text that could be incriminating.

If they can see your number (from whatever phone you use), they can check it in a data base, and see if there are negative comments about you. It doesn’t necessarily reveal your identity (unless you’re dumb enough to use your personal number), but does tell them if you’re a potential problem customer. Maybe good idea to change numbers periodically to avoid detection
