Greetings all,

I wanted to learn is many folks are watching Shogun on FX. There is a lot of talk about Tea Houses and Courtesans. There is a modest amount of depictions of what’s happening w/i these places. I find it germaine to our shared interest.

Thoughts?

Its excellent. First time many of japans top actors have left the country to work on a production. Sanada is directing and starring in this and many of the Japanese actors agreed to take part just to work with him. Everything from the costumes to mannerisms of the time are meticulously executed. There’s a FX behind the scenes series which show just how much they put into this to make it authentic. Absolutely worth the time to take it in. Hope you enjoy it.
