I have considered it, but I wonder if there is a real benefit to having one these days? Gas is cheap, and, for what it is worth, the sedan I have averages 35-40 miles per gallon. The 35 represents true local driving, so I think that is great. What would you consider a plus if I purchase a Tesla?
No maintenance. Gas will go up. If you have solar it’s a no brainer. If not full charge about 1/3 cost of gas. Driving experience is unlike anything gas. Fast , one pedal driving hardly use brakes. Best part took first long trip to philly and it drives itself!

If you insert the word SUBARU for the word TESLA the comment will be correct.
Subaru is a great car but it can’t compare to Tesla. Crash test ratings superior to any other car period. And the entire roof is glass. Go figure. Go for a test drive. They let me go by myself! You’ll be hooked.

Look, I get it, TESLA drivers think they have found True Religion. ANd SUBARU can not compare for styling (not that they ever tried). But here are some facts: The average Subaru on the road today has been on the road longer than TESLA Company and cars have been in existence. ITs not uncommon to see a SUBARU with 250,000 miles. I trade Oil Futures, trust me My Friend, gasoline aint going up to anything meaningful any time soon: There is a glut of oil in the World, and right now with the Virus its Miles per Month of Driving, and not miles per gallon. The Long Range "S" TESLA is stickered at $81,190 and the "S" PErformance is at $101,190. Plus each has a $1.200 Delivery Fee. The average SUBARU is $30,000. While styling wise, these are APples and Oranges, you gotta buy one helluva big tankful of gas to make up that difference. I think its fair, and I am totally with it, folks like the TESLA because its very cool in cocktail party conversations. As a practical and value proposition, not really. BTW you drove to Philly on AUtoPilot; next time let me know so I can self-isolate that particular day---a crash test rating waiting to happen.

And, so, it begins LOL! Just some light kidding

Honda, Toyota and Subaru are all good brands.

Tesla is definitely pushing the envelop and has confirmed that electric cars are not only practical, but they are even more economical to build and operate. Most auto manufacturers are actively migrating to an electric platform.

No oil changes, Rare Brake pad replacement. Less moving parts has absolutely confirmed more reliable and long lasting operation. My next car will be an electric car. It will not be for awhile and by that time, there will be many options available for an electric car.

I'd like to add Hyundai to that list. I am on my second lease with a Sonata and think it is a very nice sedan.

My first car was a 1963 Triumph Spitfire. It almost killed me numerous times between electrical fires, rusted out floor boards and the independent rear end that when you go sideways the car would roll over!! My best story is that I couldn't wait for the warm weather and take the top off. Now I'm talking about the early 70's when girls had to wear dresses or skirts to school. I'd stop home and go upstairs to "change" and check out the window and see my girl spreading her legs, haha!! Still a perv after all these years!!

Thinking of making another philly cheese steak run in near future. The S is nice and you get Free Super Charging for life but for a commuter I like the model 3 or the modelY just released. Half the price of the S or X.

My first car was what I sarcastically claimed was my "Pussy Getting Pontiac." 2 wonderful ladies did enjoy how much smoke that thing would put out when whatever fluids would drip on the hot sway bars or axels. I can't remember. It was always funny when someone pulled up to me and said "Your car car is on fire." It was an 80s heavy metal fog machine on four wheels if I kept if above 50mph for 10 minutes.

Never had an issue with rust or anything on the ones I owned. But I also had a nissan that no matter what I did to it I could not kill that thing. Had a spark plug shoot out of the engine, put it back in and it kept running for another 3 years. Guess I get lucky with cars. Wish I had that kind of luck with women.
