I don’t agree that giving details promotes LE investigations. Even if a post contained no information, the mere fact that the place was posted about would be enough to get on LE radar. Couple that with the place itself advertising online in a way consistent with amps and LE would know the deal. Neighbors certainly don’t need reviews from this board, no matter how explicit to know what’s going on in these places. They’ll notice a steady stream of single men going in, and young (sometimes) Asian women leaving and they’ll figure it out. My point is that I don’t believe stating the standard an acronyms in pubic details has any effect on whether a place is investigated or not. Likewise, some say they don’t share information at all so as to keep the place safe from being shut down but that contradicts the purpose of the board it seems to me.
It would help if clarification on the purpose of the board and the acceptable degree of specificity in both public and private details would be posted by a moderator. It would be helpful to me to state explicitly if approval of a review by a moderator means that the information presented, in the manner it was presented, is also approved for the board. I’ve understood that if a review was approved, the information presented, and how it was presented, was also approved. If another monger disagrees, that shouldn’t rise to the level of a moderator establishing policy but it seems that posted criticisms are meant to have the “force of law” but without the necessary authority to establish it. Then the frustration level increases when someone doesn’t abide by these suggestions and we have endless arguments about the same things.
