I haven’t partaken in the hobby since end of February. I have a window of opportunity this week as I’ll be driving though the city to hit up PH (long time regular there pre Covid). Anyone with a family, wife and young kids, gone GFE since things reopened? Or are most still holding out? I’m a little nervous...

I just wanna point out that from what is known about covid transmission, you probably have a high chance of bringing it to an AMP than getting it from an AMP. The staff at these places have been hiding indoors and disinfecting the space for some time. Some of the talent have retreated into Queens because foreigners resist wearing a mask more than others.

New York City is in a good position to operate normally again but people from other states coming in could bring in a new wave of viruses.

That being said i think the city has gone a few days or week without new cases and inpatients are dwindling. New reviews popping up every day. It’s pretty safe to visit an AMP :p

Thanks for the response. I agree in that the city is in a good place for now, which is why I’m considering it. This might be my only opportunity for a while. I am never alone nowadays. The providers are more at risk tho since they are swapping particles with strangers every day, and I’m not. It’s just nerve wracking with the family,

Ha! I was more worried about being "traced" than getting Covid. I'm still relatively young and healthy and everyone in my family is healthy. I only give fluids to providers so I don't worry about that transmission method. And if you get it by breathing in the same air as a provider? WTF are you going to do? You could get it at 7/11 without a mask. But WTF do I know...

Not so much traced because you don’t have to give up info it’s not a legal thing. It’s more about 1 getting my family sick and 2 coming up with a story on how I got it for my wife. I guess I could just say who knows coulda been at the supermarket but she knows I mask up everywhere. We have been very careful.

I'm not making a comment one way or the other, but just wanted to clarify known facts so people can make an informed decision. The link below shows a daily new case rate in recent weeks for NY State in the mid-700s/day, for greater NYC over 300/day, and for Manhattan about 50/day. So it's still out there and people are regularly getting infected.

As for being indoors, I have read (and believe) that indoors is much riskier as any virus aerosol is circulating in an enclosed space without any fresh air. Just an fyi.

Disinfecting has a negligible effect on transmission. In fact I'll go as far as to say it has created a false sense of security.

After 4 months of this we have pretty clear evidence that the main mode of transmission is airborne, and therefore, through talking to one another. So if a provider is talking dirty to you 6 inches away, no amount of Lysol in the world will protect you. Both of you masked should hopefully reduce the risk somewhat, but there's still always a sizeable risk because with this activity there is inherently a lot of heavy breathing in and out.

I'll also add that indoor environments are especially dangerous as the virus tends to linger in the air without good ventilation.

If a provider is seeing 25 guys a week, there is some likelihood that she will come across an infected man.

IMO, this is not a good recipe, all things considered. Stay safe out there.

There’s still positives but hospital admissions (i work at one) and deaths are at an extremely low %. RIP but it’s like whoever’s left still sick enough to be hospitalized are just waiting to die or recover at this point. The % of those people that are tested positive, asymptomatic, and mongering? I don’t know.

You both bring up good points and I’m not advocating for or against it. You guys do you.

I’m just pointing out that transmission here at the AMP is probably pretty low. You have a higher chance of getting it at a grocery store with bad ventilation if someone else before you was infected and went in huffing and puffing all over the place selecting items. If you’re not confident in the current city stats and you're debating if you should even hit up an AMP of all places just don’t even go out.

Stay safe.

Good points up above. Perhaps try making first appointment when air quality is cleanest. As for the heavy breathing, that's only coming from me.

How exactly do you know transmission rate at AMPS are low? No monger is going to admit he got Covid from a provider. Everything has risk for sure but somethings more risky than others. I'm not telling mongers not to monger but to be aware of the real risk. Staying in a little closet with another people breathing heavy is a high risk activity.

This is a completely baseless claim. I'm not going to tell people what they can and can't do - but I do think people should be informed. What I described as the mediums of transmissions and how the virus is passed however, is grounded in fact. What you did was just arbitrarily ascribe levels of safety to AMPs and grocery stores with no basis in fact.
