Sure they may think that there is something going on at the spas. But there are plenty of reviews on here that clearly state that it is a legitimate massage. And not all the places are FS either. So that LE actually do their job and figure out what goes on where if anything. No need to help them along because they are trying to hurt they places that help us. If someone is trying to hurt me why would I help them.

This could be solved by either the OP deleting their post once their question is answered or solved, or having time sensitive posts that delete themselves once a certain amount of time has passed.

It would be best if the original poster deletes their post to avoid trouble for the workers.

The sweet little old lady who lives across the street from you who clutches her bible does not have the power to shut down this website.

The government does however.
There's no point in getting into this kind of thing, but I believe the above statement is not accurate. If you look at the laws in this country that govern prostitution and solicitation, the most severe of them are in the traditional Bible Belt states and arose and were made into law from the views of the people there, including that little old lady clutching her Bible. Stating that she is powerless is untrue.

When enough of those little old ladies clutching their Bibles get together, they have accomplished many things against privacy, sex work, and have also managed to make sure that such laws are quite severe in that regard. If anyone is testament to that, it would be Phyllis Schlafly. Indeed, the little old lady and her Bible have done much in the past and are as powerful as ever in this country.

Citizens have a say by petitioning their representatives in government. But the real power does not lie with the citizen. In the end every law is backed up with the barrel of a gun. Try not paying your taxes, a total refusal and compliance would result in having a SWAT team surrounding your house. No citizen has this kind of power.

Censoring and curtailing free speech is a phenomenon of the government, not the citizenry. To suggest otherwise is silly. Which is why the average person fears the government a lot more than his fellow citizens.

That is missing the point with regard to how laws governing sex work were established in this country.

In the late 1800s, the large cities tried to rein in prostitution because of sanitary concerns among the population. Most of the states, however, passed the laws against sex work based on a Biblical interpretation of "Thou Shalt Not" or that it was wrong and immoral. How do you think the reps decided that?

Well, they got the push from the citizenry and at that time, the primarily Christian devout got these laws passed. My point is, that sweet little old lady and a lot of her fellow parishioners were quite powerful and still are when it comes to societal mores and getting the laws governing us into effect.

They were effective in 49 states. And if someone hears of a Bible Belt state decriminalizing sex work, do let us know.

I don't think I ever discussed laws about sex work. It's not the point of the discussion. My point was who has the power to shut this site down? It's not the individual granny across the street--- it's the government.

So what are we arguing about? Laws that individuals don't like? Some may not like prostitution laws. Others find abortion law grotesque. I am sure every person in the country finds certain laws distasteful and somewhat oppressive/tyrannical. Whining about things out of our control seems like a fool's exercise.

My point simply was not to give the citizen with a Bible a pass. Historically, the laws governing sex work started with the Biblical interpretations. That's all.

The churches also have an advantage over us on policy issues: they don't pay taxes. Unless we can figure out how to make the Monger Demographic a Tax Exempt Charitable Foundation, we'll never have the money to match them and their influence.

Many here on this site and others have blamed nosy neighbors and disgruntled wives as the cause of many a spa shutting down. Now it's the fault of views of the average Christian stemming from the late 1800's.

Some may think the average Joe is 'quite powerful"' about getting laws into effect, ok fair enough. Compare that to the power that congress possesses. I don't remember being consulted or having any input into Obamacare or what my 'fair share' of paying taxes should be. I think we do ourselves a disservice when we overlook the power of the government and who is REALLY the bigger threat to free-speech and our liberties.

My point was not disgruntlement with laws, as I am sure we all have our share to be disgruntled about.

Historically, the laws governing sex work in this country did come from devout Christians who influenced politicians successfully.

It is entirely fair to assign blame to them -- or some would say, credit. Carry on.

he man said he had been going to such “Asian spas” for 17 years to pay for sex, and had been going to the Ocean Spa on Lincoln Highway for three years. He had paid to have sex with a woman he knew as “Yoyo” as many as 20 times, and with another woman he knew as “Jackie” 15 times. He said he paid as much as $200 for a house fee and sexual intercourse, and had gone there as recently as May.
Investigating the Ocean Spa on social media, Parkinson was able to read “reviews” of the business that included a description from a person who said they “got my money’s worth with Yoyo.” In another review, a second person describes in vulgar terms having sex with a woman at the spa. “She really knows how to make things interesting,” the reviewer wrote.

I believe this is from the patch news site. LE is definitely being a- - H- - -

Yeah, LE is definitely checking review sites and has been using them to target AMPs. LE gets a call from the next door business or that sweet little old lady with a Bible complaining about the AMP, and the first thing they do for intelligence gathering is to cull all the reviews they can on the business. Time and again, this is LE 101 for AMP raids.
