Now they're saying two weeks-month. I drive by it daily 2-3x and they have the "fill in" really close to surface level so a barebones bridge is what I guess we are getting for the time being. I don't know how many lanes or the speed though.

Money never sleeps.

Lord knows when it will be what an actual bridge over an underpass though.

Looks like the temporary lanes at the crash site will open to traffic this weekend.
There was plenty of hand wringing and harrumphs on this board when I said it would be fixed in 1-3 months. I didn't specify it would be a temporary or permanent fix. But can 95 ever be permanently fixed?
Anyways I'm impressed.

I-95 will always be a "work in progress" with all the traffic it carries. If the temporary fix lanes do open this weekend, it would be the greatest achievement made in the Philly region in my 70 years living here (I remember when they were building I-95). It's good to know that the people of Pennsylvania did elect a good governor in Josh Shapiro as he appeared to be main point man in getting this issue resolved.

The speed at which the temporary roadway was installed is impressive by any measure. The lightning pace will ease up some now that the pressure to reopen the highway is off. It's still going to be a while before the pre-crash conditions are restored. I for one will be curious at the final accounting tally of the seemingly limitless and very creative emergency expenditures. Your gas taxes at work, fellas.

Despite the hype and the parade down the NE Extension with the pace car, I think bringing in the track dryer from Pocono Raceway to combat the wet weather was a great example of creative thinking. It only happened because the Secretary of Transportation used to represent the district containing the racetrack in the Legislature, and made a personal request for assistance when his daily update included possible weather delays. If you weren't previously, we all should be NASCAR fans now.
