For anyone receiving or knows a person that is being vaccinated, you should read this link

https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/doh/downloads/pdf/monkeypox/jynneos-vaccine-faq.pdf

On an encouraging note, a few providers told me they are going to get the vaccine this week, keeping in mind it takes two weeks and a second shot also two weeks, which puts us at Labor Day?
Highly unlikely that they will get vaxxed, unless they dress as men. Hopefully they aren’t being scammed by Dr. Nick.

The GOOD news? Upon checking my vaccination records, it appears I was vaccinated against smallpox.

The BAD news? This was over 50 years ago.

Can one assume that vaccination after such a long stretch is still EFFECTIVE? :geek:

Not true - plenty of women are going - guess who ? Guess what they do for a living - these women are street survivors- they will be first in line and first to get it . They know their way around the ring

Well, I’ll gladly pay them a HF plus Tip if they can get me in (without me having to pretend that I sucked 8 dicks over the past week).;)

Are you asking the providers their health status? And what makes you think they won't tell you what you want to hear?

This hands down the most ignorant comment in here, it's scary.
Not sure if this was directed at me. No, they show their proof of vaccination regarding Covid. I would not expect a monkey pox vax card yet. But... I do not have to ask an Asian provider as they never stopped inoculating for small pox or polio. So, I look at their arm and can see the small pox scar. Small pox and polio are generally administered at the same time, therefore if they have the smallpox scar they are generally inoculated for polio. Make sense?? Good, of course in the event this was directed at me. It gets confusing here sometimes.

The scheme to stretch the supply is to give 20% of the dose. Nothing like healthcare rationing to instill confidence that they're on top of this.
You heard half... they are stretching the dose only till the cavalry comes with thr 300,000 doses scheduled to get here. It simply takes 3-4 to make it. Reserves were low as we have not seen this in decades.

So let’s clear it up

Facts:

(1)
You can get it from bedding because the virus can pass from lesions , saliva or bodily fluids of the infected onto those surfaces .

(2)

It is unknown why in the gay community although HIV research tells us that male gay sex is more aggressive leading to bodily sores and tears within the anal fissure cavity , a breeding ground for virus passage.

(3)

It is NOT solely skin to skin , although the most common . Sheets and bedding are highly transmissible as are DFK , BBBJ , any saliva transmission, as well as drinking from a contaminated persons water bottle, sharing silverware, toothbrush and even the water from a toilet splashing up upon flushing of the water is contaminated - like you get in an un flushed toilet where someone peed before and you didn’t notice . Yuck .

These are facts not my opinion . I hope this clears it up . As for the previous anti gay peanut gallery ( I’m not gay) this is why the world is so screwed up . Seems to me if there was a little more love , tolerance and understanding in the world , it might b a better place

Good night nurse
To add to your point (2), gays have many times more partners per year than heterosexuals. Men are programmed for quantity of partners, women for quality. In hetero relationships a compromise is reached. Nothing like that among gay men - both sides of the transaction are interested in promiscuity.

Of course female providers and us mongers are two other demographics with high promiscuity. If monkeypox jumps into the hetero population, it might be through this community.

I never stopped wearing a mask , spraying , using sanitizer, washing hands vaccinated and boosted twice each . Still got Covid , breakthrough case. The BA5 variant and new BA6 have figured their way around the immunity gained by vaccination. Until the more comprehensive vaccination arrives this winter it’s iffy. Ditto for monkey pox . These are micro organisms, they invade, they destroy. There is no careful way to dance around it . If you get it it’s treatable - just make sure you are vaccinated for Polio - that is for life with no cure

Could never get into seeing a chick who wore a mask.

Just makes the whole experience too CLINICAL, IMO.

Now, for those who have a “doctor/nurse/hospital” fetish…, GOOD times!

They usually take them off once in the room. But, and a big BUT, eyes are deceiving. A person can have the most beautiful eyes, then they take the mask off and I want to run for the exit.
