Actually just got home from my session today and another memorable time at PH. Won't leave a review because its pretty much more of the same of what I get every time, only difference this time is that I left a green tea cake for noona and my ATF, that I hope they liked!

Most martial arts are useless, especially those that don't allow full contact sparring. Go to any grappling school and you will learn more a lot faster while actually trying to kill whoever you spar against. Any good school will have you full contact day 1, just leave your ego on the door because you are probably gonna get choked out by everyone if you don't have any background in it.

Most martial arts are useless, especially those that don't allow full contact sparring. Go to any grappling school and you will learn more a lot faster while actually trying to kill whoever you spar against. I took taekwondo for almost 10 years. It was very tough getting my black belt but i never made it, i finished my career with a red belt. Competed in state and nationals and placed 2nd. But at that time, i was underdeveloped for my age because everyone was basically men, and i was still a teen.

You won 2nd national? That's impressive. How do you guys divide your divisions.

In Judo we do by weight class and rank. For example Seniors Open (all ranks) at 73kg. I never did make it to Nationals, participated and won state, regionals, and international invitationals (not for points.)

Dude age doesn't matter. When I competed in the IJF seniors (17-21) I got my ass whooped by the Russian Junior Olympic champ (age 15) in 20 seconds. He wasn't supposed to compete they were just there as a promotional event. My coach didn't even say good luck or you got this. He said "just have fun with it"

Nah but seriously if you have a black belt, much respect. That shit is hard to get. I know some schools basically give them out but my instructor was the real deal. Remember the TV show way back in the day? WMAC masters?

My instructor was on that show.

I fucking gave up basketball for a couple of years to hone my taekwondo skills. It was so much fun back then man. I had a lot of fun. I am definitely proud of that.
