What you describe was more the sentiment I encountered in the 80s, when my "friends" (really just losers I hung out with) looked down on me for seeing hookers. But these were guys whom the majority only whacked off and maybe 2 or 3 had an ugly girlfriend. To me the choice was clear.
These days, the "simp" is the guy who wifes up some post wall ex party girl in her 30s who spent her teens and 20s banging "bad boys".
Her clock is ticking and ol' "Simpy", with his good job and mild mannered demeanor, starts looking not so bad after all.
Problem is, she will always compare him to the jerks and thugs she used to party with, and she will eventually divorce him, soaking the poor guy for half his net worth, alimony and child support. His life is pretty much over after that.
Us guys who "pay for it" can walk away from anything. Just walk away. That's true freedom. Nothing "lesser" about that.
It may be quite lonely & depressing at times. But I will still take freedom any day.

I used to think not so much “paying for it” as the other side of the coin... how someone else felt about being paid by strangers for sex. For example, at least 99% of us use a pseudonym for amps or “specialty houses”. A high amount of us use burner phones, or backup ones for the purpose of mongering. So, we are strangers to them. Most of the Asian women I’ve encountered...and there’s been a lot, use anglicized names because it not only makes it easy to remember coco, Julie, Tina, Mary, Anna and so on but it retains some personal pride and freedom for the service provider. Back to the original poster, do you feel that way? Did someone you confide in about your hobby say that? If it’s eating at you perhaps another hobby is in order.
yes its all good . but every one of us think different, i was married for 20 years then she passed. but let me tell you going to this places it never cross my mind not even for a minute. untill she was gone. but hey we are all different , but who am to judge, those are great words so true . just have fun with these girls.

You don’t have to go out and risk a girl developing feelings or you developing feelings behind your SO’s back. You're paying for them to leave. A lot cheaper than alimony. I actually prefer the mongering arrangement. No guessing about what I want and what is expected from her. Is it fun to pick up a chick at a bar? Sure...but even that has a price tag and a lot less certainty.
