Sites like this are not the problem.
Or at least not directly the problem or the big problem.
40th rd is the perfect example of something that wasn't an issue until it was. Does anyone think police were ignorant of 40th until a few weeks ago when someone stumbled on to a review site? No. 40th has been around for as long as I can remember and it was largely out in the open. Cops knew, cops frequented, they didn't care.
What's happening on 40th is it's no longer the slum of Main Street, I was down there a while back, there are some nice classy looking establishments down the block. I'm sure they aren't happy with sex trade happening outside their door. Either their complaints sparked media attention or media attention sparked their complaints, whatever that leads to people forcing cops to "do something" about it.
I'm not saying Police never use sites like this one, but I don't think just because we talk about something here that's a major determination in what spas get raided. I think a bigger issue is what spas draw attention to themselves IRL.
