I'll speak to SA now that I have some significant experience under my belt with it.
I have paid between $0-$300 for the meet. Now, to be fair, that doesn't include paying a meal or coffee or anything we might do.
Being 33 helps, I am sure. Being well spoken helps, I am sure. Being completely up front and respectful about expectations helps.
You want a deeper experience then a transaction, I highly recommend it. Yes, you will need to sort through some bullshit. Yes, some will waste time and put price tags that you aren't willing to pay on themselves. It's a part of the game.
You want quick, simpler, services with a much smaller chance to actually have any connection, then the amp/indie route is probably more realistic.
Personally, I've got no significant other to worry about. So I just go about business as usual.
You will also deal much deeper with the woman's opinions here then in the business. They like what they like and that's that. But the quality=price idea isn't necessarily accurate either. I had one woman that was expecting $1,000 for meetings. I declined the offer, but I am sure somebody more her type could do better then I was offered. The woman I haven't paid anything to and we have had an ongoing situation for 3 months now, had an allowance of $2500 a month prior to me, for 2-3 dates a month.
Point is, it is the extreme definition of YMMV. Some of us will play over there and hit the jackpot, some of us will be better suited to call and make appointments. Neither is right or wrong, it's just what it is and what we make of it.

And the communication barrier with the girls is sometimes tiresome.
I joined SA for a single month recently. I had sampled it two years ago, but without results. This time, thanks to some tips from users on this site, it was much better. I met with four girls, but negotiated with a lot more. My range per meeting was 100-300. My criteria were: age, looks, ethnicity (prefer Asian or White), cost, location and willingness to host. The last is important as really don't want to have to pay for a meeting AND a motel. I was surprised at how many of these girls will send you nude pics prior to a meet without even being asked.
There are two I am still seeing who are both 300 per meet. That is more than a spa visit (which can run ~200) but in some ways it is worth it. One is Asian and one is White, but they are both in their early 30s and very hot.
Pros:
-- The meets are 2-3 hours long, unrushed, and are more in depth than I get with most providers.
-- The experience is totally raw, which is not the case with AMPs. In fact, regardless of what they say prior, they always go raw on the first meet.
-- Lastly, and perhaps most important, no fear of LE or being seen going into/out of an AMP. The initial meeting is always a bit tense (it could be a set up), but these girls almost always answer the door very scantily clad on the first meeting. I also ask them to touch before anything changes hands.
-- Discretion. These girls are very discrete. They have lives too that they don't want ruined.
-- If you keep seeing the girl, you will get to know each other. This can be good or bad.
Cons:
-- $90 a month to subscribe to SA. However, I limited it to one month
-- No guarantee of massage
-- Once you find a girl you are comfortable with, you can stick with her. That is mostly a good thing, but I still get the itch to explore.
-- As you might expect, lots of girls in the NYC area. However, these tend to have stratospheric expectations. It seems like 600 is the minimum for a meet there.

-- I had some duds. One girl stood me up. Another girl was a lot thicker than the headshots in the photo led me to believe. She also wasn't wearing makeup. Fortunately, that was the 100 encounter.
-- There are some real creepy crawlers on SA. I had one "girl" who was clearly trying to scam me. Another did a nude striptease on a video chat and then implied she had recorded it. During the striptease, she encouraged me to show my dick, which, luckily, I did not do. She did not ask for $$, but I think it was an attempt at blackmail. I told her to go fuck herself (which she seemed to be good at anyway).
Tips:

My own experience is that 300 is the baseline for a good experience with an SAer in the burbs or boonies. One of my keepers initially asked for 200, but wanted 300 to repeat. She was pretty amazing, so I was okay with it. Another asked for 200, but then asked me to leave after a half hour; I did not repeat. A few people say they get it for nothing. More power to them, but I have not run into that. Some of these girls really need what you can give them. I don't want to take advantage.

This woman IS doing fine for herself. She's in a career that nets her little free time, so she was looking for that outlet without a relationship, and I am in the same boat. And the chemistry is there. The only discussion of money we have ever had is that I was the first she met without locking in numbers ahead of time. With that, if she ever needed anything, I'd do it without hesitation. As an arrangement, or just in general, because I see what she's doing and she deserves it.
Taking that in to account, it's definitely not a realistic expectation to have. I got extremely lucky, but it's not impossible. But as VJLUTZ stated, expecting to pay $200-$300 in exchange for an extended meeting that typically has a more extensive menu then anything else you'll find is very realistic.
